The New York City Metro Area Modern Quilt Guild was created in early 2010 as part of the Modern Quilt Guild to offer a place for non-traditional quilters to connect and create. We support all styles of quilting where you are free to explore your own creativity in quilt-making. The MOD Guild promotes the appreciation of quilts, supports quilting activities, encourages quilt-making, and furthers the growth of its quilters’ education. All levels of quilters are encouraged to join us, including beginners.
Our meetings are held the first Saturday of every other month from October to June. Meetings usually run from 10am-2pm and are held in midtown New York City (see Meetings page). We may also meet informally throughout the summer months, so be sure to check out the website for MOD gatherings around the City.
We participate in round robins and group quilts featuring selected blocks-of-the-month determined at the bi-monthly meetings, and you may even find us swapping fat quarters! Show and Tell is always encouraged at our meetings. Check out our blog for meeting recaps and see what we are up to!
